Leadership Team

Our leadership team recognizes the authority of God, and realizes that we are shepherds who serve under the Chief Shepherd, Jesus Christ. We desire to devote ourselves to prayer and to the ministry of the Word. Our passion and goal is to equip the believers for the work of the ministry until we all attain maturity in the fullness of Christ.

Pastor Craig Brown, Senior Pastor

Pastor Brown’s primary focus is teaching and the preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Pastor Brown has served as senior pastor of Praise Tabernacle since 1996, after the passing of his father, Bishop Eugene Brown, whom he faithfully served as staff elder and minister of music. Pastor Brown is an accomplished musician and sits on the board of several major affiliated organizations and he is an assistant professor at the Minister’s Training Institute.

Alexander Howard, Jr., Senior Associate Pastor

Rev. Al Howard hails from Fort Worth, Texas and has served with Praise Tabernacle since 2006.  He also served as assistant pastor under the late Bishop Eugene Brown from 1976 – 1994.  A retired senior crew chief with American Airlines for over 40 years, Rev. Howard is a sound theologian with a M.Div from Ministerial Training Institute.  He plays tenor saxophone and tours with several college jazz bands throughout the South land.

Janny T. Lane, Senior Associate Pastor

Dr. Janny T. Lane has been in ministry for over 50 years and has faithfully served in nearly every leadership capacity within the church.  She is a retired teacher with the Los Angeles Unified School District with a M.Ed and a D.Div.  She is the youngest daughter of the late Bishop Robert L. Searcie of Portland, Oregon and ministers in a manner which is spell-bounding and always uplifting and encouraging.

Debbie A. Brown, First Lady/Associate Pastor

Debbie Brown hails from Franklinton, North Carolina and has been been in the church all of her life being raised in the Way of the Cross Church of Christ organization.  She moved to Los Angeles in 1976 and soon after was married to Craig Brown.  First Lady Debbie has served in the local, district, jurisdiction, and national organization.  She currently serves as the Women’s President of the Southwest Jurisdiction, Christ Holy Sanctified Church as well as the director of the Women’s Fellowship at Praise Tabernacle.

Yulanda R. Parson, Praise & Worship Leader

Yulanda R. Parson has been a member of PTWC all her life (she is the daughter of Pastor and First Lady Brown).  She left for college in 2000 and received her B.A. in Music from Clark-Atlanta University in 2005. Relocating back to Los Angeles with her husband, Fabian, in the Spring of 2013, the choice was obvious for her to take over this vital and important ministry as PTWC builds its new ministry on the West Side.
