What if, when we came to church on Sunday mornings, there was “standing room only?”  What if there was a line wrapped around the building as people waited for one service to end in order to get a seat for the next?  While these scenarios might seem impossible, they are very much attainable.  After all, we make the claim in our Confession of Faith that, “every seat is filled as people come to hear the word of God.”

As I was praying in the early morning hours on December 12, 2007, I heard the Spirit of the Lord say, “…that my house may be filled!”  As I continued to listen, He then dropped into my spirit how the house, Praise Tabernacle Worship Center, is to be filled:

For each month of 2008 (January – December), challenge every member of Praise Tabernacle to invite one family (or individual) who does not belong to a church to attend one Sunday morning service during that month… that my house will be filled!

While inviting one person or family to one service during each month may seem trivial, let’s consider the possibilities:

If just 12 members invited only “one” individual to one Sunday morning service in each month in 2008, that would be 144 potential new members.  And being that there are more than 12 members who belong to Praise Tabernacle, you can see the potential growth just from among our own members.  Every seat would eventually be filled.

Luke 14:23 says, “Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled. If we as members are not proud of our church or any member is ashamed to invite someone to the church they attend and call home, I would seriously ask, “why belong to a church where you cannot invite others?”    

In 2008, you can help Praise Tabernacle Worship Center, one of God’s houses, by inviting your family and friends who are not actively involved with a ministry.  No one should be just a “bench warmer” or just “attend church.”  Everyone should be and want to be involved in the up building of God’s Kingdom.  Let’s make our Confession of Faith a reality; “Every seat is filled as people are here to hear the Word of God.  

Won’t you pray and ask God to place those in your path who are in need of the Gospel of Jesus Christ or a place to call “home?”  Remember, that’s one family or individual per month for 2008.  The harvest truly is plenteous …
