The Late Supt. Benjamin and Mother Doveator Betters, Sr.

In 1952, Elder Benjamin Betters, Sr. and Sis. Doveator Betters came to Los Angeles, California from Fort Worth, Texas to start a church.  They, their three small children, Benjamin, Jr., Gladys, and Bettie, and a small handful of members, formed the Macedonia Christ Holy Sanctified Church in their home located at 1521 at 51st St. Los Angeles, CA.  The congregaion latter purchased property located at 35th and San Pedro.  

Supt. Betters was the pastor of Macedonia CHSC from 1952 to 1969.  Mother Betters was called home to be with the Lord in 1990 and Supertendent Betters went home to be with the Lord in 2005.

The Late Bishop Eugene and Elect Lady Alpha Brown

In 1969, Elder Eugene Brown was appointed pastor of the Macedonia Christ Holy Sanctified Church.  Before being appointed as pastor, Bishop Brown served in many capacities:  deacon, choir director, youth president, licensed and ordained minister, Sunday school superintendent, and assistant pastor.

In 1985, the congregation moved from 208 E. Martin Luther King Blvd (formerly Santa Barbara) to 1432 W. Florence and the name was of the church was changed to First Christ Holy Sanctified Church (in the city of Los Angeles).  The ministerial staff grew from two to twelve and a membership make-up of young and energetic "former" gang members as well as seasoned men and women of God. 

Bishop Brown went home to be with the Lord in 1996 and Elect Lady Brown went home to be with the Lord in 2001.
